Yes I would be interested to hear any theories about why it is booming in Mexico - poor Mexico they seem to adopt everything that is bad about the US and the WBTS is essentially a US invention.

2014 Yearbook Stats - 7 Countries account for > 50% growth
by Westenddave ini thought i'd share the 2014 yearbook stats.
i converted the file to excel format & sorted the increase in publisher's column from largest to smallest.
as i suspected, the growth is limited to a very few # of "lands.

WHY MANY GET STUCK IN!
by ADJUSTMENTS infrom my experience as a jw i noticed that myself, and many young ones do not have a choice in the decision of becoming a jw or not.
from infancy you are indoctrinated, so by the time you become a teenager and just begining to reason on right and wrong and what you will do with your life it has already been decided.
so at this moment in your late teens you come to a cross roads... if you decide not to be a jw you will be mentally and emotionally beaten, threatened and oustracized bordering on abuse.

Londo 11 - I agree - I don't see Steve Hassan's tactics working for my wife as I am her only non-JW family. It is soo difficult to get through to a born-in. If they accept what you say it is a repudiation of their whole life to date. For most that is just too much to contemplate.

Does this cover the time since the typhoon in the Philippines? If so that could explain the increase there...

April 2014 WT is up, more attacks on career and unbelieving family!
by EndofMysteries inhere are some highlights from the magazine.
the first article, "imitate the faith of moses", teaches how moses didn't remain in pharohs court, they then skillfully spin getting a decent paying job and career as equaling "enjoyment of sin", and how those who have "enjoyment of sin" will die at armageddon with everyone else who enjoys their job.
here are some quotes from the article.... "when tempted to engage in sinful conduct, ask, what future do i want for myself?....

I am appalled to think my wife will lap this crap up and there is nothing I can do about it and yet she is happy to ask me for money and rely on me to provide for in every way including her retirement for she has saved nothing and I have saved a lot. Soooooo frustrating.

I arranged a walking trip to South America with my 18 year old son and arranged a side trip to do some whale watching in the Straits of Magellan. While my wife realized that she and my 7 year old son with her could not join the walking trip because ti was too arduous she gave me a hard time about not getting them along for the 2 night 1 day whale watching trip, which I admit was a bit pricey but fantastic and well worth it. I thought but refrained from saying (I have learnt my lessons in that regard) that it would have been incredibly decadent and materialistic for me to have flown them all the way from London just to join us for that trip and so I was doing her a favour by not exposing her to such materialism. It also occurred to me that for worldly people like me and my 18 year old son who will shortly be bird feed, it is important to have such experiences but for someone who will live forever in an earthly paradise where wild animals, including humpback whales, are tame (perhaps it will be possible to swim with or even ride humpback whales after this wicked system of things is brought to an end), such experiences are unnecessary. Still I have had to agree to take her on some equivalently extravagant trip in the future to compensate for not coming with me and my 18 year old by my first wife.
The point of this is that she entirely lacks consistency on the issue of materialism and while she is generally frugal and happy to criticise others for being materialistic she also does not mind spending the money I earn from my Satan-inspired career made possible by my Satan-inspired university degrees including for the purposes of travel. Very much a double standard.

Is there anything you can do to restrict your ex's ability to take your son to meetings before he turns 18? Have you thought of an amendment to the custody order to this effect. You could bring the court's attention to the negative aspects of the JW lifestyle and the psychological damage of choosing to leave after signing up. You could also highlight how much emphasis the WBTS is putting on child baptism.
You are in the UK right? I would be happy to help you to look at how feasible it is to make such an application. I don't let my wife take my sont o meetings any more but worry about how I owuld deal with this is we were to separate.
My view is that zero tolerance is the only way to deal with child exposure to WBTS indoctrination.

The Russions know a thing or two about propaganda so I think it gives their ruling more credibility. 'It takes one to know one'.

I think she always lived in terror of someone at the KH finding out about her going to that disco or that any of the sisters would find out about her relationship with me. She used to carry her sexy skin tight clothes and high shoes in her bag when she went to the KH and then do a Superman style change on the way to the disco. If we were walking downt he street and she thought she saw a sister she would cover her face or pretend she wasn't with me.

my wife - who went I got to know her would go to the KH int he morning and then in the afternoon hang out with her non-JW girlfriends in a disco in one of the racy parts of Hong Kong dancing and drinking cocktails. The place was later closed down after a police raid found drug dealing and prostitutes on the premises. I am sure she was not aware of that stuff going on there and she was still quite shy and naive when I met her - not there incidentally, we actually met on a walking trip organised by one of her non-JW girlfriends - but I did go there with her later so I knew what it was like. I think she went there as a release from the pressures of conforming to the KH and her family's expectations and to try to meet a man given there weren't any at the KH and she was a 30+ year old virgin. It wasn't really her sort of scene but she enjoyed the escapism of it and her non-JW girlfriends were real non-judgement unconditional friends.
So that is why I didn't think she took her JWism too seriously and I was shocked when after she was reinstated she went all zealous on me and said that as part of her reinstatement she understood that it was a mistake for her to have gone to that disco. I pointed out to her that the friends she had there were probably the most genuine friends she has ever had and that when I had seen her there she was genuinely having fun without any guilt or shame and that she shouldn't now have any regrets - which I think caused her some cognitive dissonance.
